Stuff actually worth spending your hard earned $$$ on...

Not really a personal finance thread. More philisophical. Other than the obvious (food, water, shelter, insurance, women ) what are the things that you actually value enough that, if you could do it over again (or for the first time or dreaming ), you think deserves your hard earned money. Also, think (cliche) quality over quantity?

I'd say:
-automobile
-clothing (shoes, suit, the whole nine yards... obv, this is Styleforvm)
-watch
-computer
-TV
-bike
-sailboat
-guitar ...

I agree. Two questions. How do real ballers like you Pio approach building a home. Do you separately contact an architect, general contractor, etc?

Also, what kind of advice are you talking about? Just financial advisor or more?

Also, I'd add phone (just upgraded to email and internet on a new and reliable phone and it can really come in handy, especially in professional context) and books (education in general).

I am not a baller. Ballers are the guys with houses in multiple cities/countries, trust funds, shit like that. I'm simply a salaryman that happened to become friends with a WSJ award winning builder. He hooked me up with his architect for the plans. Then the bottom fell out of the economy and I had very expensive, pretty pictures of a house I can no longer afford to build.

Never go cheap on the drugs, unless it's booze, in which case never buy anything but the cheap stuff...

But really, spend money doing things, not acquiring things.

Autos are the absolute worst... unless you're going to the track on a regular basis, get a fucking beater.

See, I'm thinking the same thing. If anything, most of these things are just that. Objects that allow someone to do activities with other people, or by oneself as well.

My parents never went to concerts or encouraged us to go growing up. I always though concerts were overrated until college.
