Depends on the chick (and probably on how you look) -

Current girl I'm dating says she prefers me with about a 2 day stubble. She's commented that she can feel it is sometimes scratchy but immediately says not to shave it. I'll clean shave for an interview, or for formal occasions, other than that I maintain stubble so clients take me seriously (since I look like I'm 20 without it).

A bit scruffy. My beard grows in very soft, which I always thought of as looking less badass than denser, pricklier facial hair, but m'girl apparently finds it comfortable on her face. So all's well.

They like the two day look, but the feel of day zero. My GF likes how my face looks and feels after I shave, but I've gotten mostly positive comments on day two.

My girl loves my beard, gets trimmed once a week but would be equivalent to around 1.5 weeks growth.

Clean shaven. GF hates even a little stubble on me. When I grow out my yearly mustache she always pulls on it to annoy me.
