I love it when people describe themselves as intelligent.

Oh, you have such wit, Matt. I love you too.

He went to 98 Rock (97.9) after the Power Pig. Then he lost his job for one reason or another - I think it was during the big FCC crackdown that followed the Super Bowl tata. I think he spent some time on Stern's satellite channel before he went to The Bone (which, incidentally, is the worst radio station name ever).

I think that's the progression, but I should note that everything after his firing from 98 Rock happened after I left the area, so it's all what I've pieced together during visits.

I don't listen to the radio much, so no. I have a few friends though that listen to Rush and Glen Beck at work.

I think he got canned from 98 Rock for butchering a wild boar on air.

Well, I hit "reply all" and quoted a brief analysis of the email, complete with credible sources, demonstrating how the original email is full of shit. The most conservative and hot-headed people in my family were on that list, and I can just imagine their faces getting redder and redder.

Here's the deal: if you decide to circulate hate-mongering, mostly-fictitious ultra-right-wing bullshit, don't include an intelligent Democrat with web browsing skills in that email.

I dont even know how you have the energy. No amount of facts can keep them from chasing the beliefs Fox Nooz tells them to have.
I mean, shit, I sent a neo-conservative family member the link about how they just discovered that the "666" from the Bible is acutally "616" in the oldest version of the New Testament. Instead of saying "wow the Bible is pretty unreliable" he replied "616? Wow it must be all a part of a plan to throw us off from discovering who the AntiChrist is..."

Please allow me to commiserate with you. I have an in-law (my spouse's first cousin once removed) who recently married a young fellow who is -- from my point of view -- an ultra-right-wing conservative wrapped up in religious fundamentalism. He is so convinced of his ways -- in short, his opinions are absolute fact from his perspective -- that he feels compelled to share his every waking thought with us. Were this not enough, he’s giving “constructive criticism” one by one -- but copied to all -- to each of his new in-laws. Oh my ... it ain’t pretty. He has no tolerance of anyone or anything that dares to differ from his narrow-minded comfort zone.

Monday of this week the lucky recipient of his attention was his new wife’s grandmother. She responded, “I have been wondering why my granddaughter married you. Beyond your better than average -- but in no way exceptional -- looks, I see absolutely nothing you have to offer her. I’m not a fan of divorce, but I’ll make an exception in your case.”

I don't usually get copied on their emails; I'm pretty sure Dad did it by accident. By the way, he responded that he knows a lot of this stuff is bullshit, but he hates Obama so much he doesn't care. I love the guy, and he's usually a pretty stand-up person, but that's pretty ignoble, in my opinion, and I told him so.

That is a great response, but I don't think it matters if he's an "ultra-right-wing-conservative" or a "left-wing-nut-job". An asshole is an asshole regardless of his political views.

Personally I just wish he's keep it all to himself.

I like how Rush pronounces words like "forty" with this sort of jowly horse-nicker vocalization.
