I'm an outgoing introvert - Page 3

I reverse engineered my MBTI test into an Access database. If you're interested in getting it without shilling out $20 or something for an online or booklet version of the test; send me a message.

I thought I was an introvert to be honest. I don't meet too many people at seminars, classes, etc. But I ended up being an ENFP.

I find it too complicated though and started using the DISC model instead for things at work. When I take over a new team or get a new direct, one of the first things I do is to get them to take the test as something fun to do (I share my result in return). It helps me understand accelerate the "get to know you and your style" period.

The thing I never really understood about these personality tests is that: once you pigeon-hole yourself into one of the four letter personality types; what then? Dominant: Introverted Thinking Auxiliary: Extraverted Intuition Tertiary: Introverted Sensing Inferior: Extraverted Feeling I mean... If I'm an INTP, I understand what it is telling me about how I am. But, how do I work with my personality type under different situations? I fell into the trap of reading all kind of psychology crap about 8 years ago. It ended up screwing me up a little, because I kept finding other things that I could label myself that I never even knew I had before reading. ex: I think reading about depression made me fall deeper into depression. ok, so I'm an INTP. one of the things about it (from http://www.personalitypage.com/INTP.html) is "The INTP is likely to be very shy when it comes to meeting new people. On the other hand, the INTP is very self-confident and gregarious around people they know well, or when discussing theories which they fully understand." So, is my shyness a pre-determined trait that I am burdened with no matter what, and I should just learn to accept it rather than try and figure out a way to make something click then all the sudden become more socially active? For me, it's a never ending cycle of trying to get out of who I am, and into who I want to be. I just don't know the path to follow.
