What's the most versatile A2 leather jacket contract repro? - Page 2

I own a Good Wear jacket - not the A-2 - and it's absolutely fantastic in every way, from stitching to lining to the actual FQHH leather. Mr. Chapman is a pleasure to work with, and knowing that he sources the leathers (and the linings, and the zippers, and the buttons, etc. etc.) and puts together the jackets himself in the US is the kicker for me. Can't go wrong.

^I'll add nother endorsement of Good Wear. I have an A-1, and it's a fantastic, lifetime jacket.

Because it's got a modern fit (baggy) and while their products are very well constructed the leather they use is so chemically embalmed it feels like car seats. I've also grown averse to wearing contemporary US militaria because of the "wannabe" impression factor. The vintage styles just look better. The USAF era A-2 is really a different jacket.

GW doesn't make an A-1 anymore, does he? I see so many A-2's, that the A-1 is very refreshing, but they seem to be rare.

He may not have it on the website, but I think he would do one. I read somewhere that he had developed a new A-1 pattern.

I'm a big fan of the A-1. I thrifted a Bally reversible A-1 blouson in navy that I'm currently having cleaned and replacement knits put on. I can't wait to get it.
