Picking out jewelry for GF? - Page 2

Get something custom done for $300ish. Buy a good looking stone, have a story to go with it, and then write a really sweet letter about how you're sorry it took so long, but you had to make everything perfect for the perfect girl, etc.

Jewelry is the worst gift you can get for your GF...it's a very personal thing and they can be very choosy. Just avoid doing it. I guess the equivalent can be her buying shoes for you. If you really must, then get her a gift card. A good alternative is electronics - she'll trust your judgement and appreciate the gift. Maybe an ipod sound system?

because b!tches like jewelry that comes in a red box that says Cartier, or a robin egg blue box...

and they'll do things they normally wouldn't do, right after...

I bought jewelery for a girl once and I was pissed about the waste of money when I broke up with her. I'll never do it again until i'm engaged. Save your money unless you're going to keep it very reasonable and know her tastes well.

Yes, it's does matter is it silver or gold - have a look firstly what does you girl usually wear. For example i hate gold It also does matter what's the shape and the style of the thing you're going to buy... as to the prices - the same as with cloths. There are famous jewelry brands that cost more due to the name also.
Be more attentive to details while picking out jewelry, guys

I completely agree with spb_lady..I also think so..

Or a bowling ball. Make sure to have your name inscribed on it so she will always remember who gave it to her.

Jeebus but that's selfish. The gift is about them, not you and your petty spendthrift ways. I've never felt bad about giving my girl a gift.

Get her some pearl earrings; simple and nice.

+1. In particular, look at the Freshadama fresh-water pearl studs from PearlParadise. Just as good/lustrous as all but the best of Akoyas (including Mikimotos/Hanadamas), at a fraction of the price. Plus, the freshwater ones have the benefit being 100% nacre, rather than a thin layer of nacre over a bead.

go browse jewelry at the mall with her, take note of what she likes, go back and buy later...problem solved.

Quick threadjack: To the female(s) who posted above (or want to respond) - Flowers delivered to the office and a nice dinner restaurant acceptable for a birthday for someone you've dated for 3 months-ish. I pay attention to things they "wish they had" and haven't found anything yet... Thanks!

While I do not agree with the crude and uncouth manner with which this is expressed, I wholeheartedly agree with the concept.

David Yurman is always classy. You can buy it off their website but it is also carried in higher end department stores like Bloomingdales.

I've mentioned this elsewhere, but if you like pearls, pearlparadise.com is the place to go. They have pearls at all different quality levels (and frankly I think their better pearls are better than or at least equal to Mikimotos) and their prices blow anyone else out of the water. Service is great, selection is infinite, and the price is right. Highly recommended.
