Is it possible to get Jeans/Chinos perfectly hemmed so it's not noticeable?

I've always had problems with Jeans and pants, as my inseam is 31 inches. 30 is too short, 32 is too long.

Is it possible to get them hemmed so that it's not noticeable? Do I just basically need a really good tailor?

Thanks.

You'll get hate but I say: damn straight this needs its own thread. Sticky this shit!

What the fuck is op even trying to ask?

Sorry, tailors can't hem a 32" inseam to a 31". It doesn't work and it looks weird. You'll need to get bespoke pants in this case. Repost in the Men's Clothing forum.

Something like: he falls into an inseam length that's generally not available so will always need to resort to hemming. And if that's the case, will hemming ever look as good as the original hem. I guess. The answer is: any two-bit hack will be able to whip up a hem job that will look fine. WTF this deserved its own thread is beyond me.

That's what I thought, but like you said anyone could make a fine-looking hem with a chicken bone and some dental floss. ..

Maybe he's talking about distresse things, but I discounted that because of the chinos. . ..

I really hate to be the one to tell you this, but if both 32" and 30" look bad, 31" won't look good either, ESPECIALLY because it will have an ugly hem. Switch to kilts.

Get some tighter pants and let them stack. This is your only option
