Hemming bootcut jeans? Ruin the look?

What I wouldn't give to be able to just buy a pair of bootcut jeans and they look perfect like Logan from Wolverine Origins.

But alas, my inseam is less than 28"

Would hemming be alright, even if it only ends up with a slight flare?

Obviously it depends on how much you are hemming them, right?

So if you are going from a 36 inseam to smurf mode 28, then, yeah, it might have an impact. But if you are hemming from 30 to 28, then I can't imagine much a change.

Of course you could just measure the leg opening where it is now and measure it inches up at 28 (before hemming) and easily tell for yourself what it would look like after hemming, but unecessarry and annoying questions are what fashion forums are for, right?
