I completely agree with Iammatt here ... both food and atmosphere.

It's the older, and more rustic, version of Kokkari in the city. I think it's great.

I actually think Evvia is far better than Kokkari. Evvia has retained it's spark whereas it seems that Kokkari has become comfortable with it's status.

I've been to Dio Deka twice now, food is amazing and the service is top notch but it feels a bit overdone at times with the expansive menu.

Had a couple pretty nice dinners at Locanda, the new Roman-style place by the Delfina people on Valencia. The pastas were really good. They also have a couple grilled things and a bunch of offal meats, but I'm not so into that.

 

They have a full bar with some good cocktails too. But warning (or bonus points depending): you have to navigate the tatt'd hipster demo.

yeah, sorry, that was sort of a cheap shot. even hipsters make fun of hipsters now. I think it's worth the trek to 16th and Valencia.
