I couldn't agree more. I know someone who purchased a Barbour messenger/lap top bag similar to this around 4 months ago to use as an everyday bag for work. It has stood up to use very well.

They've also received numerous positive comments about their bag since buying it - generally centering around the fact that, as The White Carnation notes, it has a little more character than a lot of other bags out there for the same money.

It's ok but not something i'd rush out to get.

I have the Customhide Scholar and was not impressed by the leather whatsoever. It's not amenable to everyday wear that a bag like that should be. The leather reminds me of what you would find on cheap Bass shoes or prom rental shoes.

O'Rly? So you think 6 or 8 ounce waxed cotton is going to do better than 22 ounce waxed cotton twill? That Barbour looks OK but it won't hold a candle to the Filson pictured above and that I'll bet good money on.
