Good, inexpensive haircut in Manhattan?

I'm looking for a good place, yet inexpensive to get a haircut. All I need is a haircut, nothing fancy. UES or Midtown preferred, but I'll travel if its worth it.

Astor Place. Not Upper East Side or Midtown ... but it's definitely inexpensive.

Of course, it has been 25++ years since I was a customer.

When I'm looking for some solid basic stuff, 14th and 7th ave SW corner. Hollywood haircuters. 15 bucksish?

Salon Ishi does guys' hair for only $84 + tip. Pretty good deal for a midtown Japanese salon, imo.

I have been getting my haircut at Astor place since i moved here - so about 6-8 times now. I just walk in, ask for a cut, and they point me to whoever is free at the time. The place is huge, and the barbers don't necessarily work there everyday.

If you are looking for a quick, no-frills haircut, its a good place. Know what you want and any one of them should be able to do it for you.
