Marble - Travertine which way round?

We are redecorating a bathroom and cannot decide on the wall and floor finishes.

The basin, WC and bath are white and traditional in style (Victorian) and we are inclined to pick a cappuccino polished marble for the floor and a travertine of a similar colour on the walls but then should it be the other way round or all marble or all travertine? Any comments.

Definitely not the other way around imo. Beyond that it's hard to give an opinion without seeing the space...

Depending on the marble, doesn't it risk being awfully beigey?

Emperador Dark marble FTW!

It must be comforting to bathe knowing that there are pillars to keep the ceiling from crushing you in the tub.

The army of blonde sirens armed with chamois and loofahs would soften the blow first, Doc. I dont blame you for not picking up on it, as they were out of frame.

Ended up with polished marble all over. Probably very beigey but the continuation of colour and texture works best in a small room (no pillars or blonde sirens).
