They are good, try them out. Neil is a very nice guy and does good work for his clients, for small alterations, it is a good place.

I've used both in the past and have been happy more or less with the results. I have some inexpensive items I don't want to pay a premium for alteration though. Is Neil at Sid or somewhere else?

If you're still looking for a tailor. Give me a try. I'm a traveling tailor and I'll come to you at your home or office as long as it's in metro Atlanta.   http://www.yelp.com/biz/alterations-next-door-sandy-springs-2  Susan

To revive an old thread and hopefully provide good information.

A note about Hong Kong Tailors:

I was in there yesterday spending more than I intended, but I have no doubt that the work will be good. And with thrifted sportcoats, what's spending $125 for two impeccably tailored staple pieces?

Anyway, Neil said they'd be remodeling and prices will be going up, "so get all your alterations done this year."

The pricing. I don't know if this is low, low, but it's certainly lower than Mario and Sid, perhaps:

1 blue jacket
J Sides in top out waist $45.00
            J Sleeves - Taper  $30.00
            J Sleeves - Shorten  $25.00
1 navy jacket
            J Sleeves - Shorten  $25.00

When I mentioned Sid's tailoring, Neil said something like "the husband works over there, and the wife works over here -- sometimes they rotate." I don't know if the quality is the same, but the one suit I've had them work on was worth the investment.

That's definitely cheaper than Sid's tailors, at least for shortening the sleeve, for which they charge $45.
