Who are you rooting for? How can you not love the Os story this far? It's because their star centerfielder is African-American, isn't it? devil.gif

EDIT: Oh, wait, I guess you are a Devil Ray worshipper.

Two words: Peter Angelos. I was a huge O's fan for the longest time (my earliest sports memory is watching the 1979 World Series on a black-and-white television as I went to bed) until Angelos bought the team and did all in his power to prevent a team from moving to DC. When the Nats win the World Series, I hope the team holds a parade that passes directly in front of his law office. devil.gif

I had free box seats for that Series between first and home courtesy of my GF's dad. He wouldn't say where he got them, but when Jerry Hoffberger came by, we were the only ones in the section who didn't know him personally. The news crews kept filming the very attractive woman seated next to us. My very modest GF said "Why do they keep filming her? I'm much prettier?" "Uh, honey, that's Doug Decinces wife." "Who's Doug Decinces?" snork[1].gif "Uh, the guy playing 3d base." Heartbreaking Series.

BTW, Peter Angelos has no business running a major league sports team. I have quite a few friends who used to work for him and many would say he has no business running a major law firm. That said, he does seem to have the Midas touch and I'm sure Mitt would approve of the extortionate deal he drove with the Nationals resulting in the MASN contract.

Worried a bit about Tillman's elbow. I can't believe I'm about to say this but losing him could be a real blow to the rotation. Good news is that hopfully Hammels will be back soon. Also a bit concerned about Strop, he's been shaky lately, Jim Johnson had a similar period about 6 weeks ago. I hope they're just getting it out of their systems. I don't know about going into the post season with Saunders and Wolf. Randy Wolf for Pete's sake.

Strop says his mechanics were off and he will straighten them out. Tillman has learned to pitch despite the lack of movement on his fastball, changing angles, speeds, etc. We'll see. Great season, no matter where it takes us from here.

It would be awesome to get Hamels but I'll be satisfied when we get Hammel back. nod[1].gif
