Jacket looks great, just odd with the zipper

They tweaked the sizing this time around.

How so?

I bought the size small tin cloth trucker jacket and its as big as last year's medium.
Did you buy the olive one? Because I bought the brown one in a large not too long ago, and it fits pretty damn medium on me; shoulders are perfect, and I don't think I'd be able to layer much under it and still move comfortably if I'd sized down.

no i bought the beige one. maybe urs was still from the older batch, or maybe mine is mistagged.

Huh, dunno. One of those, I guess.

Check your hang tag. If it says levis on it, then its probably an older batch. Mine just has an R on it.

I have the same feeling as well. What's the manufacturer date for yours?

Can you explain the handtag?

Sorry I meant the white tag on the chest pocket. The earlier batch has the word levi's on it. Mine has an R on it. I think the ones with the R are from the new batch and have the adjusted sizing.
Really? I thought they just threw in the "R" thing every once in a while to keep people on their toes. It has something to do with claiming exclusive rights to the use of that kind of tab, like even if it doesn't say Levi's, the tab itself is a registered trademark.

it's just a guess on my part. it's just that every jacket i've seen up to now had the word levi's on it. Either way, when I tried the jacket on in store last season, it was incredibly snug. The one I have now has hulk arms.

Levis works with Filson and with Open Ceremony. They're trying to diversify their product line beyond denim streetwear and outerwear.

They should have the date of manufacture on the tag, which is stitched on the inside of the left pocket.

I went with their recommendations, and sized up one to a large. I could layer with it, but not something very thick.

I'm not sure if mine is from their first run or their second, though. I bought it in August and it was manufactured a year before, on August 1, 2010.

I'm 6', 165, with a 40-41" chest.

There is a recent review on Filson for the original Tin version, emphasizing that the sizing has been adjusted to more TTS. I'm starting to believe that all the patches with the manfuc date were done in bulk. There's no way that they were all made in August 2010 with it being back-ordered for months with 4x price increases. I actually had to size down for the olive hunting jacket.
