Firing my trainer

Thread Starter
I started working with a personal trainer at Equinox 6 months ago with an incredible guy I loved working with. After 7 weeks I had lost 8 lbs of fat and gained 2.5 lbs of muscle. He had me eating right and feeling good. No workout was the same. We did a solid combination of movement exercises, body weight, core strengthening, cardio and plain old destroying iron. He would text me in the middle of the day to say 'good job' or check in on what I was eating. I never felt so motivated. They he got fired. Don't know why. Probably for hitting on clients. With his reccomendation, I started working with a woman. She's very professional, very smart, but honestly, I need the motivation of a big jacked black dude kicking my ass again. I don't like my trainer complaining to me about her diet. I want to be able to talk about the smokeshow on the elliptical and why I cant do those leg presses because my balls get in the way, etc. How can I proceed and start with a different trainer without changing gyms? I was thinking I'd take a month off from training and start up with someone new?

I think this would be coward. Why don't you talk to her about your problem? Some people simply don't fit together (in certain aspects) and she will probably understand this.

Launch her.

Get a real trainer.

Just hire your old guy to come to the gym with you.

Most gyms dont allow this because it takes business away from their own inhouse trainers.

Use the workouts you and your old trainer did and workout on your own? You can't rely on someone else to be your motivation.

Right but we all need a push, even if we have to pay for it ...

If your not comfortable with your trainer, speak to her about your problems and ask her to recommend someone else. But you should try working out on your own and finding your own way to stay motivated. When I got serious about working out, the compliments kept me motivated.

shouldn't you try to get the sechs before firing her?
