I found this book to be an amusing read: http://www.amazon.com/Muscle-Confess.../dp/0380717638 A lot of people consider gym rats to be one step up from the missing link; a nano-cerebral sub-species, only capable of hooking up the nose bag at meal times, and ensuring the Super Glow tanning lotion reaches the inner crevasses of their buttocks. The book proves that this is simply not the case. Mr Fussell actually went to Oxford (the place where all those clever, posh people go). Pick it up. It's only a few ounces in weight, hardly anything for a serious practitioner of the deadlift. Lear (loose and flabby) Get out clause I'm not a practitioner of anything, except the art of concealment. I'm in no way affiliated with the author or publisher of this book. I'm not even clever or posh, although I'll sometimes buy Ferrero Rocher chocolates and leave my bespoke jacket cuffs undone.

So basically your aim of the post was to dismiss a so-called "myth" by offering evidence where ONE gym rat matriculated from a world renowned university?

Good point. It's still a great read though. He literally transformed himself from beanpole to the sort of bloke you'd cross the road to avoid. Lear

A very interesting read.

Not surprising. A whole lot of bodybuilders happen to have PhDs. It takes a good understanding of chemistry to correctly use anabolic steroids after all.
