WW Chan is awesome. His suits are beautiful but ate upward of HK$8000.

Sam;s Tailor have superb suits and are amazing value for money. HK$2000 - HK$3000 and definitely made in HK - they do not out source to China and have their own workshop in HK. Sam's is not a tourist trap. Take a look at his website and you will see an amazing list of clientele www.samstailor.com . Great suits and value for money at Sam's Tailor. When you get to the store ask for Sam and he will look after you personally. Or book an advance appointment with his son Roshan for the full bespoke experience.

I have been shopping with Sam's over 9 years now on and off. Have tried Raja's and WW Chan in between. Raja's fashion was awful and so pushy. terrible service and lousy suits and shirts. WW CHan was a great suit but tough on the wallet. But WW Chan didn;t provide the same level of personal service Sam;s Tailor did.

I wouldn't try any of the others mentioned. Best of luck!

Hi Sam the Tailor Employee

You forgot to mention that there is no one called Sam, the guy running that tourist trap is called Manu.

Yes Sam's has an amazing list of clientele who have been given a free suit and likely chucked it out the second they stepped on to Nathan Rd when they saw that it was made from inferior fabric. His cloth is junk ok. In what way does WW Chan not provide the same service ?, they don't give the dumb tourists a can of beer when they walk in. You mention that Sam's have their own workshop in HK and don't outsource to China, this is complete rubbish. They use a cutter a few blocks from Sam's to cut the pattern out and then it's couriered to Shenzhen for assembly. I once asked a tailor in HK who was the best in town, his reply was that I can not tell you who is the best, but I can tell you who is the worst, no goldstars for guessing the answer. Apparently Sam's are very tight on what they pay the outsource workers so they use the cheapest materials and ways to cut costs to make it up. There are numerous stories on here, of guys who have picked a cloth out only to find it substituted for some rubbish polyester mix.

Out of interest, where in HK is PL located and how long does it take to knock up a couple of *****? The reason why I ask is that I am in Hong Kong Sunday and leaving first thing Wednesday morning.

You can order first thing on Monday morning 10am, and he should be able to have the shirts ready by Tuesday afternoon. The shop is at No. 33 Far East Mansion along Middle Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. It's just opposite Sheraton Hotel. Peter can send the shirts to your hotel too, I believe.

I still count my Raja suit as perhaps my greatest Sartorial error ever (commissioned well before I had ever even heard of AskAndy or SF). Don't know about HK, but for the same price point as a Raja, you can get an Iris bespoke suit from Singapore. Based on what I've seen on SF, Iris is light years ahead of Raja.
