I am having a hard time finding casual shoes to pair with jeans or occasional grey trousers and a button down shirt. I am getting tired of my go to Clarks, the which I can't find a picture to link to because they are an old model. And I don't want to wear my beat up Loake wingtips as much anymore, kinda getting tired of that look....I have been lurking around this forum and have gotten some ideas, but frankly I am looking for an admittedly hard to find middle ground that is based on individual taste.
I know I am limiting myself with my specifications, but I know I have seen guys wearing nice casual shoes that are not chukka boots or boat shoes or sneakers. My recent trip to a Clarks outlet store was a failure, some really ugly orthopedic-like shoes
I am a shoe newbie in general; I know of very little brands and styles, so any recommendations here would be great. With dress shoes it is simple: a good quality cap toe brown balmoral and I'm done. But when it comes to casual shoes, I am lost. I don't want sneakers, so my search instantly becomes more difficult. BTW when I say I don't want sneakers I mean I don't want shoes with crazy designs and colors or shoes that are meant for sporting and exercise. I know there are some good sneakers out there, I just need help finding them.
I want any and all suggestions: what shoes do you wear for a smart outfit, something not too dressy (i.e. not to be worn with suit), but not too casual (i.e. something you can wear on a night out)?
