TONY ROMO- What have they told you regarding this? In my post above I posted their reply. They basically sent me the same tracking number after I told them it already didn't work and they also told me to contact the post office. I'm very unhappy with my overall experience with ModernTailor.com.

How should I know when to contact the post office? I don't know if my package is still in China or if they tried to deliver it yesterday. Maybe I should just call the post office every day to see if they have it, that won't be a waste of time. It's been four weeks for me right now.

Emma- could you let us know what to do when our tracking number doesn't work? The other customer service reps who I email won't give me a straight answer.

We had a recent surge in production demand during the sales season (source of production delay) and we're also approaching Christmas which seems to be the cause of delays in courier. However, we are accountable for things we can control and if we didn't deliver within 21 business days, we will provide vouchers (10% voucher discount** ) to the affected customers.

I am asking for consideration from customers regarding this context. If it's a courier delay, we can not in any way, control their process nor do we have a say in how they run their website tracking system. However, as I mentioned, we are prepared to provide vouchers because we understand overall customer experience is important... I just hope there can be recognized and acknowledged distinction on the causes of the delay.

For voucher claims, please contact sales@moderntailor.com

Thank you,
E

Hi Jhonny, we understand it's frustrating that the tracking can not be tracked. However, we are also just depending on the courier's website and it doesn't work for us as well. We have sent them follow up emails though for all customers who asked about their shipment #.

To give you an idea of shipment, it takes 10 to 14 business days from China to USA. If you have a copy of the shipment tracking # which we provided, you'd have an idea of when it was shipped so you'd be able to estimate if the package is already within US region. For example, if we shipped out the garment on the 20th of Nov, then likely after 10 business days, you can already contact the nearest post office so they can check if the package is already within the area. We are still in correspondence with USPS (EMS China) to understand why their tracking #s are having problems but in the last 3 to 4 days we have not received a reply yet.

If anyone has tried the MT "Italian Collar," I'd appreciate if you could share your thoughts and, if possible, a photo. Thanks.

Just for reference my order took 20 days, I wouldn't worry too much just yet.
If it's more than a month I'd be concerned but until then...

I got a shirt in fabric t177:

And after 2 warm (not hot) water washes and 30 minutes in a medium dryer, it shrank 1 1/4" in the yoke and 1 3/4" in each sleeve, so the arms lost over 2" of length.

Customer service has informed me:
"Flannel fabrics are very soft material for shirts thus they need special care. They need to be washed in cold water. Gently squeeze out excess water and hang dry on a clothesline. Never wash this with another fabric as it leaves lints on the other fabric. When ironing, remember to iron it on the wrong side."

I wish that were stated on the website or during the ordering process...

They are offering 20% off my next order (they would remake the shirt but fabric is gone), so I'm OK with that.

BTW the 80s cotton shirt in the same order shrank about 1/4" in chest, waist, hips, yoke, arm and cuff with the same treatment.

I got it for my first shirt. It seemed cool but looked ridiculous when it came. The collar is just way too big. I gave the shirt away.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I want to love MT, but I can't really get behind any of the collars.

I ordered that same fabric and had pretty much the exact same shrinkage problem.

After sending multiple photos, MT offered me a free shirt, but like you said the fabric is sold out so unfortunately I can't get a proper replacement. At least I still got a free shirt out of the deal that will fit. Their other fabrics don't seem to have this issue.

It's a shame because this pattern is great and the fabric is actually very nice, soft, and thick. It just shrinks too damn much. Best you can do is wash cold, stretch the fabric while it's wet, then hang dry, as recommended above.

Funny, I am having the same issue. Without much to offer me they have asked that I try to find the tracking # with the USPS (fail) and that I just sit around and hope that it eventually arrives.

To MT Emma - your points regarding that which is out of your control are well taken, however you need to consider that a rash of such experiences can be detrimental to your business. To that extend you might want to consider how you could better control them - or at least service those in the dark better. I'm not really interested in whether it's an EMS issue or a Moderntailor issue - if it becomes a signifant enough problem I will move my business elsewhere and now it's not a problem!

I am patiently waiting for a package to arrive (that may never arrive) knowing the sales fabrics I purchased are now out of stock. I'm cool with that - the only irony being I've moved my business from Jantzen to avoid this exact scenario.

Yes, it is a nice thick woolly cotton. I can wear it sleeves rolled up, because oddly it did not shrink in the chest, collar or waist.

I can tell you that the string of negative experiences in this thread have already been detrimental to their business. I had shirts ready in my cart and went with cottonwork instead. You say the shipment issues are the problem of EMS and totally out of your control, but I disagree. You have control over which company/service you choose to ship your products to the end consumer.

I assume there will be no more SF discount codes? That's a pity... I've gotten used to them.

I'm going to say that you will be disappointed with CW, if the fabric you bought ends up being like the ones I tried.

I think we'd be paying a lot more than $10 for shipping if MT tries another courier company.

What level of fabric did you try from CW? I went with whatever their top tier was.
