Thanks for your email. Our system will only allow you to change your measurements if the order is not yet processed. In this case, it seems that the system rejected your new measurements because the order may have already been in production at that time. Changes to measurements while order is already in production may result to repair fee of $5 to $10 too, depending on what stage of production your order is already. In any case, an email to customer service is necessary. We've double checked our inbox but had not found any email from you regarding this matter. The last correspondence you'd had was with regards to locking of the fabrics sale price. You may have sent the email to a different address, or to a no-reply/system email. We'd like to help you resolve your concern. We would be glad to alter your order for only $10/shirt. This excludes the standard shipping fee of $10/shirt. Our shipping guidelines are as follows: 1. Send the clothing using First Class Mail (International Post) through your local post office. This is the cheapest way to send packages to us. 2. Include in the package the following details: order #, full name, registered email address, return/mailing address and instructions (e.g. copy measurements). 3. Mark the package as "used/sample clothing" so you can avoid paying additional/unnecessary customs taxes. 4. Mail the suit to our office address in Shanghai: ModernTailor ATTN: WILLIAM WANG Suite 705, No. 2077 West Yan An Rd, Jin Qiao Building, Changning District, Shanghai, China 200336 5. Please send us the customs code or tracking number for easier tracking of packages. We look forward to your response. Regards, Alice

Dear Alice or Sir/Madam, Thanks for the quick response. I logged into ModernTailor. The comments are embedded with the order. Additional requirement for this shirt states, "The previous shirt ordered is attached for reference. It is suggested to reduce the waist measurement by 2". It was 18" please reduce it 1.5" to 16.5". All other measurements are the same. The other change is for a smaller collar ;-) Thanks! I was unable to change the shirt profile from the previous order. When I leave the short sleeve length field blank, it says the measurement provided does not work. I do not want a short-sleeve shirt. Thanks very much. " I am not sure why the system did not acknowledge the email. These are limitations =\\ The order could not have been processed seconds after I sent the email. Nonetheless, I would have happily paid the $5-10 fee if the item was in production. Since the additional requirement was embedded with the original order there should not have been an absolute need for me to write an email. I look forward to your help resolving this order. And honestly, the shirt quality is very good, I suspect once we are able to properly enter the measurements into the system I will order several shirts happily. In the future, how would you suggest I place orders for shirts given the problem I had with my second order? Thanks again. Sincerely, SSS

MT was quick to respond to my initial email asking me to mail the shirt and $ for a alterations. Then after I sent this response which is above they have taken over 72hours. Kind of annoying they are happy to take the $ and respond within 20mins then take over 3 days. Nonetheless, I think it is their fault and hope this gets resolved asap. I do want to order more shirts.

MT refunded my money, but I doubt I will see my shirt again. Are there any other decent online tailors?

Your case made me think "NO!" to their terms for the 2 for 1 suit offer.

Is the sample shirt offer on the front page still on? The link doesn't work for me.

No, it's done.

Hey all. Received my $19.95 white sample shirt from MT today. I was worried it was going to get shipped back to China because I missed the mailman yesterday. They redelivered today. I took some pictures of the shirt straight out of the box. Apologies for the blurry shots - I've only got a camera phone and am not in the habit of photographing myself.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the fit of the shirt. I feel like the cuffs are a little two wide (my wrists measure 6") and the collar might be about .25" to .5" large. I got the straight bottom on the shirt, just to see what it's like. I'll definitely opt for the rounded bottom on my next order. Anyone else care to chime in on the fit? Shoulders? Chest? Waist? Hips? Sleeve length? Sleeve width?

Not a perfect fit at all. But if you want constructive criticism then get us better pictures.

Take some clearer pictures. The ones you posted are too blurry to see anything. From what I can see, it looks like the fit is not great. On edit: Acecow beat me to it...

Alright, gents. Sorry for the blurry pictures earlier. These aren't much better, but I'll get the hang of this digital camera stuff eventually. Critique away...I can't get better if I don't know what to fix.

For my preference, the waist is too big, the shoulders appear to be too big (hard to see the seams in the picture), overall length looks too short, chest looks too big, collar looks too big, sleeves a touch too short, cuffs too wide. On edit -- I'd skip on the pocket next time too.

Hi Tanyet, this was Dave's reply to your email 3 days ago (your email was sent nov 26 and we replied on nov 26 as well:

Dear Jon,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Yes, you may specify your request for high armhole. During the design process, a text box is provided for the customer so you can enter your special requirements.

The same applies to the lapel width and button stance. You can include a note on your preferred lapel width and distance and orientation of buttons.

Feel free to email us should you have questions.

Cheers,
Dave

I didn't reply to your PM because I knew Dave already responded. Anyway, I'll send the PM to you on this today.

Are the fabrics thin?

I've checked the picture swatches on the website but I'm uneasy about ordering, having had bad experience in the past with HK shirtmakers.

I'd like some flannel / tattersall style check shirts, but the concern is that the fabric will be very thin, resulting in 'hard' collars, when what I seek is soft, thicker fabric akin to Cordings shirts.

How much do the $50-$70 fabrics shrink compared to the white test shirt fabric? Test shirt feels like it shrank a fair bit.

Also are there any cotton + 3% lycra fabrics available or likely to become available or any fabrics with a bit of stretch available? If not are there any other online MTM with those fabrics?
