Yeah it's a bit of ranting but here's a bit more of the detail.

The first order I placed, I forgot to choose a tie when going on vacation - sent an email but couldn't follow up because I didn't have wireless connection.

When I was able to check I got an email saying sure just pick a tie but by then my order had shipped already.

I placed a second order and instead of a tie I was wondering if I could take a cuff link instead since I've ordered 4 shirts in total now between the two orders.Waited for 3 days for a reply, then a follow up email and another 2 day wait and nothing yet, but an automated email saying my order has been shipped now.

I can tell you they once shipped a shirt with a missing button and I mentioned that to them and they offered a credit which I turned down because I could just replace it with one of the extra buttons they always sow into the shirt at the bottom. No big deal right? No big fuss.

Meh, maybe they're busy and didn't intend to do this. But I'm surprised as I've always found them to be super responsive in the past.

4 shirts and you're a big spender?

Look I don't know what's with all the hate here. Maybe I lurk around rather than posting lots so everyone treats you like a dumbass newbie.

If you're going to respond you should read my posts or sharpen your reading comprehension. I said I had a 'large' collection already which is still subjective but definitely not just the shirts I've just ordered. It's about 16 shirts previous to this okay? Large for me might be peanuts for a you right?

Hi DSCA, this is terrible that your email has not been answered. It sounds like an easy fix and I am not sure why you didn't get a reply. Please forward me the email to leah@moderntailor.com - usually it is supposed to be sales@moderntailor.com for concerns like this but I would like to investigate. I'll wait for your email.

Placed another order and asked if I could get some cuff links and no replies for days even when I followed up.

To blow off a customer over some cheap cuff links especially if they've spent significant amount of money at their store is pretty ridiculous in my opinion.

I guess I won't be order any more from them.

This is alright. If you have not received good service, even if you only ordered once, we take responsibility. Let us help fix the problem. /Leah

Just received my first order, delivery was very fast. I used measurements from my best-fitting shirt and the order is exact. MT's Sea Island cotton is great stuff: very smooth, pleasantly soft, sunlight plays on the surface vividly and it has enough thickness for great drape.

True, my shirts aren't skin tight like you skinny guys like, but they fit me well. They are comfortable without being blousy. I am very happy with my purchases and I could, if I wanted, buy much more expensive shirts. Rather, I chose to have a lot of nice shirts, not fantastic shirts (I have over 100 hanging in my closet and another 30 sitting on a shelf still in their packaging.) I wear the same shirt maybe 4 times a year, if that. I like having reasonable, well-fitting options, plaids, different cuffs, collars, etc., rather than a few ridiculously expensive shirts sewn with golden thread or whatever it is that makes them cost $250+. Just my 2 cents worth but what the hell do I know I'm just a fat ass that doesn't know how to dress.

Ordinarily, I'm a huge advocate of quality over quality, but I agree completely with this post. If I like Charles Tyrwhitt, DKNY, or whatever else strikes my fancy, and it's comfortable on me and looks good, then there's no reason for me to pay a $100 premium for shirting. Money is not magic.

Production time issues - noted! Might be a little slower than usual so please follow up with us at sales@moderntailor.com if there is more than 3 to 5 days delay - still meeting the commitment at 21 business days though. That said, we're always here to help.

We're coming up with overcoats - great value too - wool/cashmere, 100% cotton, 100% wool selections
Stay tuned!
