I told him slimmer cut due to my lean physique (roughly 8% bodyfat sometimes 6%) and from then on he got me right after a 3 hour disucssion of fit.

british term as in 'BE SPOKEN' when you want your clothing made a certain way. It mainly pertains to clothing, but can go transcend to anything such as food such as how you want your steak done.

Bespoke involves paper patterns and several fittings.

it involves EVERYTHING it even involves where the fabric will come from and the type of pattern I want. I can if I wanted to spend the cash tell my tailor I want cotton from INDIA and cashmere fabric from Japan and I want them mixed to a 90/10 ratio.

Hi I just found about this site and thread. My modern tailor trial shirt just arrived and i used the body measurements option.

I would appreciate any kind of critique. I dont know what is causing the shirt to not rest flat under the top button.

Thanks!

Hey guys,

This is my MT trial shirt I just got. Quite happy with the results for a first try, but looking to improve for future orders.  Shirt has been washed, and I'm thinking of taking in at least an inch at the hips

What would you change ??

Everyone, I've ordered my first trial shirt, however I understand that I need to provide documents? I received the email below:

We understand that this is your first order. Before we can have our master tailor check this, we'd need you to provide the following proofs of identification to validate your order:

1. Scanned copy of front of credit card you have used
2. Scanned copy of ID with photo, plus signature (passport or driver's license)
3. Complete billing address
4. Complete shipping address

What's going on? Is this standard procedure for the first shirt?

Looks fishy - I wouldn't do it.

I have no idea why am I requested to produce such documents. It was not mentioned at all during the entire ordering proces.

EDIT: i was told that this is the standard procedure for orders coming from my country to prevent fraudulence.

UPDATE: I've requested to cancel my order and to my surprise, I actually received a shipping confirmation just now!. All in less than a day.

I want to get a white shirt from here but now I'm a bit gun-shy after the reports of even the high end fabrics having the dreaded "shiny transparent white shirt" syndrome. Any white fabrics people have gotten that are actually good?

Hi Malaysia is a flagged country - we have considered your membership to SF too for validity / credibility's sake.

Note that it's a risk for any customer as well as ours to receive orders more than an specific amount for a country where we had fraudulent experiences before.

We also requested for address confirmation so we can ship it to the right customer... This is a regular check we send to customers who have no order history with us or have not passed some fraud filters. We try to consider other context to let the order go through in some instances.

If there are concerns, kindly send me a message / Leah
