Just to update on my shirt ^^^

they did approve a remake for it, so I am satisfied. I hope the thread breaking was only a minor and isolated incident. However, I continue to be impressed with their excellent customer service!!

They responded quickly to my email about my shirt not being right - most of the measurements were smaller than what I gave them (even before washing). I sent them pictures and they were going to send it to their QA department to see if it was their fault or mine.

Haven't heard back in a few days.

They got back to me shortly after I wrote this post.

They are going to remake my shirt free of charge and said I can make any changes to my measurements I want.

They also told me that their cotton is preshrunk and I don't need to worry about shrinkage from laundering. Can anyone confirm or deny that? I just want to know before I submit my final measurements.

Does anyone have experience with the different oxford fabrics? I'm looking to pick up several, but just for example you have the following white oxfords available:

 

White Oxford, k118a, $45

White Oxford, v243b, $60

White French Oxford, R72776-01, $65 - this it the "MT Collection" fabric

White Rugby Oxford, 82877-56, $120

 

Will it generally be higher price = higher quality? It seems like they have a bunch in the $60-$70 range for different colors, then a bunch around $120. For white, I might just go for the second or third in the list above.

 

The rugby oxfords are awesome. I ordered a pink and a yellow OCBD a while back and I will likely order more.

But I like heavy fabrics.

Which of the white oxford cloths is the most similar to what Ralph Lauren use?

 

The $20 trail blue oxford I had made was much lighter and "smooth" by comparison. 

After complaining a few times here and still not hearing any response from them for my request to have the shirt remake, I decided to dispute it with paypal. The request to refund was filed sometime last week. To my surprise, a good one, today I received confirmation MT has agreed to refund the money. I've also confirmed in my paypal account the refund is there.

 

While I'm glad this case ended this way, I just don't understand how they work. However, I'm going to give them another try. 

I received my first MT shirt this week. I think it turned out pretty well, but I would love to hear from more experienced people any suggestions they may have for future shirts.

 

 

I really wish the website had more example photos of fabrics. It's pretty hard for me to envision what some of these would look like.

Where are the normal gingham patterns in light blue, lilac, etc? There is a Carolina gingham blue, but it looks like a pretty rough fabric...

Did some quick ironing of my first shirt from MT.  Would appreciate some feedback on the fit.  My only concern so far is the bunching of the sleeves before the cuffs.  Is this simply a length issue?

Decrease:
Shoulder width: 1"
Chest: 1.5-2"
Waist: 2"
Hips: 1-1.5"
Sleeve width: 1-1.5"


Decreasing the sleeve width will help with the bunching at the cuffs. You seem like a fairly slender build, your shirt should reflect this. Narrow everything down and try again. Not a bad first try, probably fits better than most OTR shirts, but could be much better.
