Pics of the trial blue oxford in sunlight. Bear in mind I'm in the Southern Hemisphere, I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

Oh really? We can fix that.

Much better.

Well played, sir! That should make it easier for folks North of the Equator.

ok, now I'm nearly positive that my trial shirt is a different blue/fabric from the new trial shirt

Those pics were mainly for the benefit of Achilles_, just so he could see the colour. Sounds like he's not happy about it either ... I'll get a few more full body shots for more feedback on fit. I did some full body shots when I first tried it on from out of the packet, and got some feedback then. Interestingly, the shirt doesn't appear to have shrunk at all after being laundered. Will launder it again and then post a couple more fit pics.

anyone know why removable collar stays are no longer an option for soft collars? eh.gif

I find that very strange too, but I always ask for soft collars with stays and they do it for me. Just ask and it should be no problem.

How much shrinkage should I expect? Should I worry, especially if I'm asking for higher armholes or a shorter length overall?

overall the shrinkage i noticed is minimal at most.
i just have seen that after a wash the sleeves slim up and the torso also slims.

i would not recommend machine drying it as it is cotton and can shrink considerably.
i have machine dried lightly and no problems

Is anyone having the same issues with collar overlap (or in other words, negative tie space)?

I was able to specify 1/4" of tie space which they were able to do on the second try on a club/"round" collar shirt, but then a couple other things ended up off, like the front collar height and the spread/shape of the collar itself.

I've noticed from browsing the gallery that Moderntailor seems to design all their collars to have absolutely no tie space whatsoever.

Then they place the collar button such that you can tighten the collar when buttoned and cause overlap. Seems like a design flaw. Anyone else have insight on this?

Ditto on fabric shrinkage. Also, the only heat I apply to the shirts is from an iron.
