Admittedly, it was a mistake on my part. In retrospect, I would hope, though, that the computer system would have identified a contradiction in my order, especially, in light of the fact that I had placed in my requested shirt dimensions.

They sent you what you ordered - stop wasting their time.

They give you several chances to confirm the details during the order process. I would expect that you'd take a couple moments and actually look at what you're buying on at least one of these occasions.

They even give a last reminder after you order. All order's I've placed have been followed shortly after by an automatic email titled 'Order Confirmation #' (followed by the order number). In the email they tell you which measurement you've chosen, among other things.

The point is that they gave you chances to realize you had made a mistake, contact them, and resolve the issue before they begin making your shirt. You're the one who decided to ignore these things and rush on through. It would only seem right that you take responsibility for something you're responsible for.

i figgured i'd ask here first.
I had a shirt made a year ago. fits great. i then went and changed my profile dimensions to tweak some things, but to be honest, i'm pertty happy with the original. Would Modern Tailor have the original measurments on file from my previous order do you think?

^ If you have an account created in your name then you should be able to log back on and retrieve your measurements from past orders.

I ordered on July 3rd and got a shipping notice this morning, July 5th. How is this possible!?!?! This is for 2 shirts.

This is incredibly poor design in the order process by Modern Tailor. The measurements should be selected before the "loose fit, normal fit, slim fit" options - this way those 3 could be disabled if the selected measurements are from a shirt and not body.

Even then, if selecting "slim fit" or "loose fit" with shirt measurements, the order system should be programmed to ignore that choice.

I've ordered shirts and used the fit options even with shirt measurements.
I think they just adjust the allowances for fit, not the measurements.

They are still based off your provided numbers.


All my shirts so far have fit very well.

He didn't just choose 'slim fit'; as far as I know choosing a different fit when using shirt measurements just does nothing, the choice is ignored. He actually entered his measurement profile then, when prompted for the measurements to choose for the particular shirt, chose a standard size instead of choosing the measurement profile he just created.

I've since been in touch with MT's customer service. We've worked something out. I appreciate their communication. Way to go.

I just remembered I ordered a pink linen shirt last fall, but threw it in the back of the closet and forgot about it. I'll post some pics and thoughts once I'm back home this weekend.

Thanks to the Canada Post strike i finally got my order from 6 weeks ago. The wild pattern I selected is indeed wild, but completely wearable. Also I ordered pants for the first time and am very impressed. Great fit off the bat and a neat texture to the pants makes them stand out in my wardrobe of cheap pants. Though to be fair I've never had issues with pant fit so I'm not really the one to say.

I may have to try one of their suits finally. Without checking back through this monolith thread, has any one ordered one recently? After being burned by Indochino I think I'm ready to try cheapy M2M again.
