I agree. I placed the oder, and I ended up decreasing the bicep by 1" (if I pinch and measure the fabric, even while flexing, or in any position, there's always over 2.3" extra fabric folded in half (so almost 5" extra overall); so I figured taking 1" off would give it a much more fitted look while leaving a little bit of room for flexibility).

Pinching the seam at the arm hole has much less give. Some of the pictures really exaggerate it (which I believe is partly because of the extra yoke/back fabric). That said, I reasoned that no matter how awkward the position, I could remove about 0.5" there without really straining it much, if at all (largest strain would be achieved if, for whatever reason, my shoulder was pushed forward, elbow out and bent, fist up - like an exaggerated uppercut). If These seem to have yet more room there to remove safely and comfortably, then on future shirts I'll take that into consideration.

The order's been placed. Thank you for everything; it's truly appreciated.

Got a new MT shirt last week. Had it washed (along with 8 other shirts). Both cuff buttons fell off in the wash and were lost before I ever put the shirt on. It was a convertible cuff so I assume they forgot to sew on the buttons properly or something. So I guess if you get convertible cuffs check your buttons before washing or something. I've emailed them and we'll see if they do something to fix the problem.

Can you guys help me out. I need my first white and blue shirt and just want the classic non-stripe shirt. Looking at the $40-75 range if possible. I'm having trouble finding my best option. MT has some on sale last week but they sold out and now it seems they have very little. Also, is it just me or did there inventory decrease?

Hi Yimmy!
We have 1717 fabrics online right now: http://moderntailor.com/dressshirts

I suggest you filter results to blue, white and plain

Cheers!

Hey Guys, my apologies but I really don't feel like going back and reading all the posts so I'm looking for a quick response (I know lazy-mans way out).

So, my experience with modern tailor, I order 2 shirts about a year ago I was VERY pleased with the results (to this day they are my favorite shirts - and had great experience with the customer service). 6 months later I order another shirt - the construction/quality was subpar buttons, fell off in about a month.

Christmas came around and I order 3 more shirts, of which all were 3 inches or so longer than I requested and construction was subpar again (buttons loose). It was past the allotted time to raise the measurement issue, due to my travel, so, I just mentally wrote the shirts off.

Now my question, has the quality improved? On MTs defensive, I have not complained about these issues, I feel like it will be more a headache.

Buttons falling off is still common; has happened to me and many others.

Not knowing the quality from 3 years ago, I doubt most of us will be able to make that comparison.

But in general, as demand and production increases, quality goes down the toilet. It doesn't matter who's doing the work: Ford, Toyota, ModernTailor, Indochino. This is especially true of these online MTM services as of right now, with booming cultural demand for "custom" and "personalized" clothing as a reaction to our culture of mass-produced RTW.

Kind of confused, just got an email about tons of fabrics 50% off for Easter, but, I don't see any fabrics that are 50% off when I put in the sales code. I see a bunch more on sale but mostly $10-20 off, not even close to 50%.

Hi Glostix. yes I appreciate that fact that there is huge risk for quality decrease as production increases due to higher demand. However, that's where customer service comes in. The ability to resolve situations fairly for all involved would be a value we offer. Kindly send email us the order # that has this buttons issue - sales@moderntailor.com

Some are close. "Blue Stripes" (No.: t258), for example, is down 43% from 69.95 to 39.95, which is close. But you're right, I haven't seen any that are strictly 50% or more off (unless it's a strange translation and they did the percentages in reverse; like saying "original price of 69.95 is 75% more than 39.95" or along those lines).

I haven't looked through all of them, though; I don't know whether any are 50% below the original price.

Hmm.... I don't see a sales going on on MT right now... How are you guys able to get the sales fabric?
it was via email. I'm not buying at the moment here is the code you have to enter on their main webpage: es1309 under the exclusive sales code field. Also, you can sign up for these thru their facebook page.

Grr. Email title says "As much as 50% off" but body says "Get 50% off Hundreds of Moderntailor High Quality Fabrics" and search page says "50% OFF HUNDREDS OF FABRICS!" I'm not sure that the first statement is true, but the rest....

I've used them once. Will not use again. Except for their communications, which are excellent indeed, they do not fare above average, in my view, in any of the important categories, such as the style, the price, the quality of their fabric or their workmanship.

Apologies!! We're fixing the issue and will resend the sale code.
