OK so I loved my trial shirt, and made an order for 2 more.

I got them, and noticed right away that one of the two shirts had sleeves 2cm short. I e-mailed them with photographs comparing to the proper length shirt, to a tape measure, etc. and they said they would get back to me. That was several days ago, no response yet.

After actually wearing the two shirts, I noticed the upper chest/shoulder area felt more restrictive than my trial shirt. So I measured the shoulder length, and they had mis-cut it, short by 1.5cm on each shoulder, total 3cm on each shirt. So my shoulders are like rounded and bulging from the shirt...

How is their satisfaction guarantee? I have seen decent customer service in this thread, but it's weird that they couldn't even get back to me about my obviously-too-short sleeves.

Why do a lot of people in this thread seem against darts on a shirt? Is'nt that a pretty good way of cutting down on the baginess in the lower back that some people are getting?

Are there any valid codes for april other than the facebook thing?

Yeah I'm getting bagginess in the lower back too, you're saying if I request darts it'll change the shape of the shirt? Also, here's a pic of me wearing the shirt for anyone interested. I have the "batwing" effect, as well as the "yoke" issue with MT. They base shoulders off yoke and disregard you shoulder measurements, according to e-mails from them. I think the problem may have to do with body type selection. Their shirts assume no pectoral muscles, horrible hunched-over posture, and feminine shoulders. I'm skinny as a twig (120lb.) and their shirts make me look muscular.

I want to offer a few general comments as advice to MT: 1. I noticed MT switched to much larger MOP buttons. That's fantastic, but I find they are still a bit yellowish like the old ones. I think the issue was more color than size and hope you might find a better source, even if you have to charge a couple dollars more. 2. It would be great if you could offer nice linen or cotton-linen fabrics. Linen shirts are great for the summer and hard to find in reasonable sizes. My one experience with a MT linen fabric was quite poor, but if you found nice linen fabrics I think you'd get a lot of orders. I noticed MyTailor has many linen and cotton-linen options. 3. I still wish there were more shirts photographed in the showcase. I am very frequently reluctant to order because I cannot envision how a finished shirt would look. I think you'd get more orders, and have more people happy with the finished product, if there were more previews of finished shirts. Last time I mentioned this someone said most people check that they don't want their shirt displayed and that's why there are so few. I simply don't believe that could be true and I really doubt every order with permission given ends up being photographed. At this moment, I see at least half a dozen fabrics that I would order if I could see a photograph of a finished shirt, but will not order without that because of the risk of not liking it. 4. It would be nice to be able to sort showcase shirts by fabric characteristic (stripes/checks/material/etc.) too. 5. I'd like to see more consistent information about fabrics. For example, many shirts are listed as "Material: Pure cotton" but do not say single-ply or two-ply or the thread count. 6. Perhaps this is just me, but I find quite a few MT fabrics a little wild, especially the ones with some pattern. If I were picking out fabrics to offer, I'd look at the nicest high-end brands and try to imitate with fabrics in very similar patterns. Having said that, I've been very happy with my orders so far and with your responsiveness to customer feedback in the past.

I just received a shirt today and have another issue to add:

7. Please make sure the fabric photos are accurate in terms of size.

I chose a check pattern fabric based on the photo, which the web site claimed was 4 inches of fabric. I actually counted the boxes over 4 inches on another shirt I own to get a sense of what the MT fabric would look like. Well, it arrived today and was not even close to what I expected. The check pattern was much smaller. The photo on the web site was simply not 4" of fabric (probably < 2"); that was wrong and misleading. Now I have a shirt that I don't really want because the fabric sample was inaccurate. It's a shame because the shirt is so nice otherwise. These frustrations with problems on each order build up.

I agree with David regarding adding linen options. I had to order a linen shirt from MyTailor last month so I know I will have it by Memorial Day which is crazy! There was virtually no selection available from MT in linen.

I've purchased a few shirts from moderntailor and getting close to dialing in the measurements. The last two that I just received are a little off in the measurements I gave them but going to see how it settles after a few trips to the laundry.
A problem on one of them is one I haven't seen on here. I actually have a defect in the thread on the sleeve. Not a sizing issue, not a stitching issue but a defect in the cloth. It looks like several of the threads came loose in the weaving process. I emailed them about this 48 hours ago. How long does it typically take to hear back from them?

And a fabric question, why no linen choices? What is offered is horrible.

This times a million. I'm very happy with the fit of MT shirts, but good photos are so rare on the site that I'm reluctant to order more.

Even if a shirt hasn't been made yet, better photos of the fabrics (i.e. drape the fabric over an object to give an idea of the thickness and weave, include something in the photo for scale reference, use some kind of colour standardization) would be really helpful.

Same, half the blue fabrics look gray

As a follow up to my fabric issue. MT handled this the best way possible. No complaints at all other than the original fabric is no longer available. I know the photo above doesn't show it but the green is quite vivid making this a great spring shirt.
