Hi, same color. The white balance on the camera might have affected the color though. But both fabric are 80s 2-ply, pure cotton.

That blue dress shirt on the last page seems quite short for a dress shirt... My MTM shirts are quite long - that way they stay more comfortably tucked in. At that length, you'd have to be stuffing it back in midday...

Polyester feels real smooth.

How much should I expect in terms of the shirts shrinking?

Here are a couple of photos of the shirt unwashed. Fit is not bad. After washing I will see what needs to be adjusted for the next order.

^ MT changes their fabrics very frequently, you just have to keep checking back to see if something pops up.

I just received my most recent MT order today, 3 more shirts. I hadn't ordered anything from them in a couple months, because my last order came back a little messed up. But this newest order might be my best yet from them. I tweaked my measurements just a tad and I think these are probably the best fitting shirts I own now.

Whats going on with MT lately...less than 1pg of sale fabrics and few if any monthly deals for regular SF members? I realize MT has to make money, and I still buy the "safe" choices at full pop, but any interesting or otherwise fabrics are way over priced for not having any real idea of weight, texture, quality, etc.

When fabrics are on sale for 40-50, that is more in-line with what I would expect for taking a gamble on a fabric quality.

So how about it MT? Why remove the incentives for your frequent customers?

+1

At $60 shipped, the value calculation is much different than at $100. At that price, you're competing with local makers where you can pick out fabric in person.

Modern Tailor doesn't need sales. There was so many orders backed up that they had to take items of the site just to keep up. You couldn't order pants, suits,... for at least a month.

They are still a decent deal at $60.

Edit- We should be thankful MT hasn't raised prices.

The have raised their prices in a couple of ways. By asking higher regular prices for the same products, offering more expensive fabrics and having less sales and offering less coupons. One cannot begrudge them this, especially since the initial prices were rediculously low.

Of course it would be nice if they re-upped their quality control.

The following quote pertains to my last batch while the first is still fine:

There seems to be very little information out there about MT suits. I ordered a classic navy suit about 2 weeks ago and received it today. On the whole I was impressed, the fabric felt a little thin but then I'm used to fully canvas more expensive suits.

The jacket fit very well, maybe the chest was a tad too big but on the whole not too bad. The pants on the other hand were very tight through the seat, in fact the front of the pants were pulling and creasing.

I've already dropped the suit of at my local tailor for adjustments, he's going to pull in the chest a small amount and try to expand the seat of the pants. Total tailoring set me back about $50.

Unfortunately, I was in a rush to the tailor so didn't take any before pics but I will post some pics after it's had a few adjustments. On the whole though, even the before product was better than anything I could find off the rack.
