Why did you guys stop making pants, suits, and jackets?

Hi there!

We are fully booked so we are not taking orders until 15th of Feb.
We'll put up the suits/pants again soon.

If you can wait - like longer production time - you can still order online : http://moderntailor.com/customsuits
It's just not advertised on homepage.

Regards
E

I made a new thread, but I think I should have posted here instead. So here it goes: I ordered a white test shirt for 20 bucks from moderntailor.com. I tried to design this shirt to be wearable untucked as well as tucked and to be a slim fitting one. So far personally the only problem I see is that maybe I could add darts on the back and the remove a couple of cm's from the lowest point around the legs (circumference wise) as well as reduce the circumference of biceps/arms by keeping the arm hole the same size. Other than that I think the fit is best that I have had so far. However, I'd like my next shirts to be of a material that is not so raunchy and much smoother. Maybe I should choose a twill texture? Disregard the low quality of the material, it's a test shirt. The main issue here is fit. Possible improvements marked in red.

Hi Dave and Emma,

Emerson responded on January 16 and he is looking after the issue.

Thanks.

How come only some of the fabrics have their threadcount and # ply listed? Would be very helpful to have that information.

I was thinking of ordering my first shirt from MT, and I've been looking on some of the sale-fabrics to start with. The fabric p227 caught my eye as a good start, and I'm wondering if anybody have info about it? My plan is to take measurements from a slim fitEton shirt, and then get a button down oxford. I'm insecure if I should have darts in the back. I have quite a atlethic build, do any of you have some suggestion of what I should do? I also heard something about the button-down collars, and that you should ask them to move the buttons to get a nicer collar. Anybody remember what I should write to them? Thank you for all your help!

My second shirt from MT has arrived. The fit seems fine so far ("out of the box": haven't laundered it yet). Hope this won't disappoint, but no pics to follow--no camera and no cell phone(!) to use.
To me, MT's customer service has improved in the past few weeks from what it was at one time.
Hope to place at least one more order.

I'm the same boat... I have an athletic build that makes it hard to find a good fitting shirt that has a small waist and broad chest and shoulders. I just sent them my one perfect fitting shirt and they duplicated perfectly (sleeves were a bit wide from elbow to cuff but I'll change for next order). That's your best bet I think.

Heyy - I need some help! Could every guy that lives in or near NYC fill out this survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FGZ6DYX - I'm doing some market research. Thanks

Hey guys. Long time lurker, first post! I finally bit the bullet and bought a modertailor shirt. First try out the gate, it fits great. I'm very pleased.

The reason I wanted to post here though is to say how great there customer service is. I made an order, really liked it, so I went back to order more shirts. However, it's a bit daunting going thru all their fabrics and trying to remember the ones I liked each time. So I sent them an email asking that they introduce something like a "favorites" that you can mark them. And here I log in today and see that it is already on the site! Very cool. That is some service.

For the price and the customer service, you can't beat these guys. Of course, i'm just a few shirts in... but I really like this service. This is my first online tailor experience.

Anyway - just wanted to share my positive experience. If you guys are on the fence, you can't go wrong giving it a shot for 30 bucks. Best fitting shirt I have so far. I plan on re-tooling my entire wardrobe with these bad boys.

thanks all

Jim

I have been a big fan of Modern Tailor and have purchased 43 shirts from them over the past 6 months. They have always responded quickly to my emails and I have never had a problem with their customer service. I order 5 shirts and tried a new collar. The collar doesn't work for me. They did nothing wrong. After communicated with them, I shipped the 5 shirts back to have the collars replaced. As it was my error, I feel I should pay for the replacement collars and shipping both ways. It's only fair and if they had messed up, I would have anticipated that they would do the same.

I mailed them back on December 14th and they arrived on December 31st. I sent them by US postal service. I sent them an email on Jan. 17th inquiring as to the status. They emailed me back the next day and indicated they had not received them. I sent the tracking number to them on the 19th. They responded that they would check on them.

I have emailed four times since then. I hear nothing in return. I now know why all the complaints on here about their customer service. I would think that for a customer that has spent several thousand dollars on their merchandise, they might respond in a timely fashion. But alas, no reply. I am not upset about how long it takes to correct my error, that is not an issue. I don't like to be ignored.

They are not getting any more of my business and I even have shirts queued up to order.
