Iphoto alternative

Thread Starter
I have an apple mac and I can't stand using Iphoto.

It's great for uploading photos to flickr or facebook, but I can't for the life of me figure out where all the pics are stored.
So if they're old images, like stuff for work that I need to save but don't want on my hard drive, I can't draq them to a dvd/removable hardrive and delete them.
Is there a better, easier photo program out there?

learn to use it. other programs out there are harder to use.. adobe's lightroom. apple's aperture FWIW, They're stored in the iPhoto Library file in your pictures folder, which is within your home folder. When you hit delete on iPhoto, it goes to the iPhoto Trash, which you empty within iPhoto. Stupid, I know, but that's how it works.

I've been back and forth with iPhoto. I went to Picasa for about a year and enjoyed it enough. Then rebuilt my laptop and went back to iPhoto because I free'd up some space (iPhoto seems to take up much more space with metadata). Now I'm at the point where I want to move 20 or so GBs of photos to an networked drive but still have them viewable easily. iPhoto won't support that. So I'm currently moving back to Picasa so I can keep 20GB offline (on the network drive) and the other 20GB on my laptop and I'll archive as needed. I never really missed any features of iPhoto when I used Picasa other than the slighly smoother interface.
