Completely impractical when the competition is bringing it in through Canada.

Nucky has to do this because:

A) No one will see it coming.
B) His money is tied up so he has to barter the guns for whiskey.
C) I'm guessing that he found a way to get the guns: 1) for free or 2) on the super cheap before he renounced his government position.
D) everyone else has the Canadian stuff, but he is going to have 'premium' Irish whiskey.

Nucky is far, far, far smarter than Jimmy. And seeing Jimmy's inability to deal with things and how he lets the whole 'king of AC' get to his head, it's obvious he is way in over his head.

The AG's assistant is already on to him

Nucky's first instinct is to handle things through intermediaries and with nuance and planning.

Jimmy's first instinct is to handle things hands on and straight forwardly.

We know who wins that in a battle of attrition. Don't forget Jimmy is first and foremost a soldier of WWI. Trench warfare. Valiant but he's doomed to failure vs. Nucky. However, if they partner up? Bound for success.

You and this love affair for these two getting together, we all know that Nucky is going to jail and Jimmy will probably end up leaving AC once his wife leaves him for another woman.

Yea, I was looking at her height too. eh.gif
+100 Terrible writing.
Below average show this week between the butcher, polio and even Richard's constant need to be shown affection is getting old. The killing of John and the meat cleaver through the hit man's head was probably the best part.

I suspect Richard's instability will be a problem for Jimmy soon. His affection for Margaret and feelings of being slightly by Jimmy makes me think he'll soon be working for Nucky.

At the end of the day, this is a show about Eunoch Thompson and not Jimmy Darmody so this IRA deal and his relinquishing of power to the Commodore et al is all a play to reassert Nucky as the big boss.

Since when has Richard had affection for Margaret? Or did you mean to say Angela?

I look forward to seeing how Richard manages to lay a turd at Jimmy's feet.

I look forward to seeing how Al Capone and Jimmy split (since eventually Al runs things in Chicago not AC.

I know it's fictionalized but I wonder if Nucky continues to stay out of political office and runs things from the outside. IT seems it'll cause a lot less headaches.

As the feds get closer to MArgaret/Nucky I wonder if she'll crack with her catholic guilt. Should be interesting.

Jimmy is still like 24 or so, so he's in way over his head. Once the commodore dies he's fucked as he clearly can't even set up a hit. BUt I imagine it's growing pains and he'll improve.

Excited to see how things move forward the final 3 episodes.

I think he just had an affection for the family dynamic that Maggie represented. But who cares, I want to see the Jew Butcher go all out on his enemies over the next 3 episodes.

I called the lover being there instead of Jimmy when I saw the Jewish dude walk up to the house. I didn't think he'd kill the wife, but I can completely see why. And what was with Jimmy heading back to Princeton? Does he realize he's in over his head and is trying to go back to the way things originally were?
Wow, I can't wait until Richard "Luca Brasi" Harrow finds out about this. There will be no stopping him.
I'm thinking that people are going to read the killing as Jimmy coming home, finding his wife with another woman, and then killing both of them. Richard blames Jimmy for it, Jimmy goes slightly insane, etc, etc. Could be a fun twist.

FUCK! Not Angela. I am sad.

Eh, one less dyke on the boardwalk.

Two less dykes. I'm sad too. Can someone tell me what Eli was thinking in having his deputy beaten?? I understand why he did it, but why then go around to his house and talk shit to him.
Eli has never been known to be smart, more or less just a bully, and he thinks his deputy a coward and moron. So i guess he went to see him after he was beaten to let him know that it was him because his deputy is too stupid to figure out it was Eli, and that's the whole point, to intimidate him into shutting up.

Also, it's pretty obvious by now that Jimmy's lost, but it's not necessarily a loss for the gang. As far as I can tell, all Jimmy really wants is to get the city under control so he can go back to his wife and kids, it's only because of his mother's persistence that obligates him to 'play the game'. Now that his wife is dead and knowing how unstable Jimmy can be, if his mother doesn't put him in line then he is going to crash and burn in his own rage, and because of this he'll be excluded from the gang.
