What to tell the barber/stylist

I have a very dry scalp that I use prescription meds on, so for ease I keep my hair short. I like to cut it to around an inch all over (sides, back, top) once a month. The problem is that they always cut it so straight or use clippers. Is there a way to tell them I want it very messy (I mean look almost like a kid cut it...LOL)? I want the lengths to vary throughout my hair. Do I tell them to make it extremely textured or something??? Thanks.

tell them don't use clippers, use scissors for the job. clippers always make my hair look all butch the first few days anyway..

Simply tell them, what you just told us. Then a good barber should be able to cut your hair the way you want it.
