Best place to get Denim hemmed in NYC besides BiG / 45 Rpm?

Hey guys like the title says I want to get a pair of NDG white denim hemmed. Where would the best place be other than BiG (cost 30$) and 45rpm (no longer does outside brands)? Reason I don't want to bring it to a around the corner tailoring place is because I'm afraid of how good they are at doing the process (heard bad stories) so unless you have a reputable place please refer me to some stores.

What the hell bad stories can come from hemming? A blind, numb infant could do a hem. The only reason to go to one of these places is for a chainstitch, if that isn't important to you then you're wasting your money

A denim hem is alterations 90B (remedial). 8-10 bux at your local alterations shop. won't even need to involve a courier.

Seconding macuser, hemming is an extremely easy job to do - there's no need to go to stores like Self Edge or BiG when an alterations shop does pretty much the same thing for much less.

Assuming the original poster is asking for a chainstitched hem this is untrue.

Taylor Swift? (It's spelled tailor) I am debating getting some 501 STFs shrunk throughout the whole leg + crotch (post soak of course). If the labor cost is low enough I will do it.

It's really hard to do anything up near the thigh/seat because you basically have to disassemble everything and recut it, may as well sew a pair of jeans at that point and get everything you want custom. For the leg, it's pretty easy and you have sewing experience, iirc. Just open up the outseam as far up as you want the taper to be, measure out what you want your new leg opening to be (remembering .25"-.5" from each side goes towards the seam allowance), mark the taper and cut the denim, and then sew it all back up and press the seam open
