Some of my "softer" duffles tended to look awful when carried, if they weren't full, looking saggy and droopy. Filling them up, they retained their round shape and looked great.

Just my two cents.

To sum it up, buy what you need.

Get the Arkan duffle from Krane, and you'll change your tune. It is made from very soft, washed leather, and has a great drapey, slouchy look, (not droopy), when it is mostly empty. But you can stuff a couple of pairs of shoes and about 5 days of clothes in it, and it fills out to a nice, satisfying shape. It's actually a lot better than Jas M.B., Collection Privee, etc... which have a similar feel to them, in terms of materials and construction integrity. I like the style more as well, but ymmv.

Heard good things about the quality of these. Will post own pics when it arrives.

How was this? They seem to have nice designs and surprisingly low prices. I'm curious about the quality.

The leather quality seems great, really nice and thick yet supple, no imperfections and very smooth. Obviously with such a low price, they have cut corners elsewhere. The zips aren't topnotch, and if anything were to break, I think they would go first. Also, the lining is quite thin, and I can see the leather outlasting this. Can't complain for £90 though, I think it should last me a good number of years. Taking it to Beijing + Hong Kong for 2 weeks from tomorrow, so will be its first real test.

This makes sense. I think a lot of designers don't put much thought into what the bag looks like empty, as they fill it with paper/stuffing in the store for display, and then design it with the idea of it always being filled. As such, when empty, many of them just look... wilted.

I will check this out, though. Krane, eh?
