not if I can help it, it is like handing your bag to a band of howler monkeys. Also hate hanging around another 30 minutes waiting for the damn bag at the claim. I fly about once a month/six weeks which isn't much but I try to fit everything into a carry on when I do.

Depends on the length of the trip. I might start going the FedEx route, especially now that they have specific boxes to ship luggage. It's probably cheaper than the checked baggage fee anyways and I trust FedEx more than the retards in baggage handling. I really want a Globe-Trotter or Saddleback large suitcase, but I know it would get FUBAR after like 5 flights, I guess that would be the benefit of going the Rimowa route

This one makes me think of my vintage 80's Kaszer bag. Yesterday a perfect stranger woman in the street said to me "your bag is gorgeous". No need to say more, I got here the perfect bag .

It's takes at least 3 weeks to ship so I won't have it for another 2 weeks or so.

Looks like they've come out with a repro.

Finally received this last week. Construction seems very good and the canvas feels thick. The leather is softer and a little thinner but I guess I'm also use to my Filson bag. For $89, this is definitely a steal. Even at the regular cost, I think it's a pretty good value.

I don't still have all of these, but here are some duffles I have/have had over the past few years: Jil SS05 Buffalo: Jil Nylon/calf: Jil deerskin: Helmut Lang canvas/leather carpenter bag: Vintage Custom-made MIJ nappa/lizard duffle: Malo Slate Blue canvas/leather duffle: Furla Uomo coated cotton/leather duffle: Samsonite Black Label "Resort" Weekender: Holland & Holland canvas/leather duffle: Vintage YSL RG: Prada V20 (left, in Mandarino) and Lambertson Truex (right) Prada duffle (in Cobalto) Gianfranco Ferre: Alviero Martini (this thing was HIDEOUS! But sort of fun)

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get it for $89?

anyone handled this vans joel tudor bag?
Seems like a good cheap knock around duffel, with some practical points (wet dry)

^My advice for anybody buying a duffle, is to be careful on those that are too "soft." I don't mean that you need a structured suitcase, but something that somewhat retains its shape regardless of how full you stuff it can be nice. Some of my "softer" duffles tended to look awful when carried, if they weren't full, looking saggy and droopy. Filling them up, they retained their round shape and looked great. Just my two cents.

They were running a promo in July on their website.
