Hot Tub Time Machine - you'll have low expectations, and then you'll laugh your ass off.

The best movie of 2010 was Carlos. Almost five hours long but never boring. I believe there is a much shorter cut of the movie floating around. International terrorist as rock star/gangster. Plays like the best of episodic television. The Red Riding trilogy was a close second. Others that are up there: White Material, Social Network, Let Me In, Enter the Void, Greenberg, Inception, Shutter Island (has to be seen more than once), Joan Rivers- A Piece of Work, A Prophet, Toy Story 3, The Ghost Writer, Splice, and Valhalla Rising.

Nice list...I'd be ducking Carlo for the length, but it has been so well reviewed that I may give it a shot. Red Riding Trilogy? nvr heard of it... Really liked Social Network and Inception. I thought Shutter Island and Ghost Writer were decent, possibly built up a bit too much...kinda like, a bunch of 5 star reviews make a 4 star movie look like a 2 star movie. I should see if there is a better torrent around for Toy Story 3 too - the one a few months back sucked. Otherwise, a bunch of things I hadn't heard of, so thanks for the recs. Keep em coming boys.

You're welcome. Carlos aired on French TV in three episodes and I am sure you wouldn't be losing much in watching it that way. The UK Blu-Ray I have has it broken up like that. I just watched the episodes in one sitting. It doesn't feel as long as it is. Most of it is in English but the rest of it (maybe eight or nine languages) is subtitled. As for Red Riding, it is definitley worth checking out. Three different films by three different directors. They manage to mesh rather well. It's pretty downbeat (sometimes bordering on nihilistic) stuff, though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Riding
