LOL, because you get some sort of royalty on all movies? This gets better and better.

Which right now, is not anything with the MPAA tag on it.

As for seeing movies in the cinema, I have a home theater far superior in technical specifications, calibration, and comfort to the theaters in my area. Why would I pay $15 for an inferior experience?

Certainly not to support people like you

Ironically, his unfailing left-wing stance compels him to support your right to pirate his work.

And to support the fact I'm a welfare queen.

He has run off to Motherjones.com to figure out what to do next.

Buying a Blu-Ray and ripping it onto my digital media server technically makes me a criminal anyway. So why not go all the way and just download it? If I'm going to be a criminal might as well be a wealthier one. Consider it a middle finger to the DMCA, congress, the MPAA, and you.

Fair enough. I have no problem with downloading and agree with you. I just thought that there was the occasional movie that you had to see in the theatre for example or if you were a movie enthusiast, had to have an official copy of a movie you love (like Criterion movies for example) and download movies you just want to see, but don't really care about.

This post may just have single-handedly destroyed all the respect I had for the film industry, unbelievable.

I get a fee or salary, royalties and percentage of movies and TV shows that I am associated with.

I'm pretty sure I've never watched something you produced. I would know it.

Trust me, there are many people in the film industry that you would hate, think are total assholes and wonder how they have the career that they do.

I would be willing to bet money (what do you get on welfare?) - that you are totally wrong.

This is just purely hypocritical and shows how narrow your view is. If you are agreeing with him downloading movies then you are also agreeing to others downloading movies, yet if you truly agree with that then you must disagree with the industry you are in for it is incompatible with piracy and cannot exist mutually. This is a quintessential fault of the extremely far left view, the inability to recognize that one person's freedom is incompatible with another's and thus it is impossible to have a 'freedom utopia' without people stepping on eachother's feet. But amuse me if you can, how would you support one's right to make a movie as a commodity, while also supporting one's right to steal such a commodity (in this case by downloading)?
