how long does it take you to say these words?

It is basically a question how long does it take you to feel love yourself... and then how long do you wait before saying it to the one you love? Are you easy with these words or you prefer never to say them?

I voted duuude in due recognition of the wild variance that my history reflects...as fast as a couple weeks in one case, but then, I was with another girl for two years and never uttered it.

I say it within a week teasingly. I've only said it to a couple people in all seriousness, one after 3 months and one after 4 years.

spb_lady, you know I've really been enjoying our discussions here on this forum and it's been a total blast, but a question like this is a pretty big one. I'm not sure what the big rush to know is. Can't we just enjoy each other's e-company without diving headlong into a serious question like this? I'm not saying we can't get to more serious questions like this one, and I'm, like, totally open to them, but right now, I mean, we're both young. Can't we just have a little innocent fun in Dumb Threads for a while before loading this thing up with expectations? Sooo, umm, amazing this run of weather over the weekend, amirite?

It depends... I tend to not start dating someone until it's well established that we're in to each other (casual dating seems like a waste of money to me), so relationships have moved very quickly at first. I also love easily, so often I could honestly say it fairly quickly, but I'm not particularly big on jumping the gun on this one. Saying when the other person isn't ready can be bad. There's also the dangerous distinction between the friend love and "in love" when you're boinking a friend who's supposed to be doing the fwb thing. Dropping the word "love" can lead to some awful emotional confusion on their part if they're refuse to create the distinction between the two. So sometimes it wouldn't be said even if it was felt in some way.

My stuttering problem makes it so that it takes a while for me to get the words out, so like...a week?

Actually (no stuttering problem) I've never really said it to anyone other than friends and family. It's hard for me to imagine saying to a guy I'm with, though I hope one day I do!

I love you, spb_lady. I hope it's not too soon.

Matthew, it has been too long already. My heart is now closed to you.

And I thought I had intimacy issues.

Usually about 3 days. And then never again.

I blame it on my geographical proximity to rednecks I'm unable to feel love for.

It means that you just don't love those guys you are with or you have difficulties with saying these words? And then do you expect to hear it from them?
