Need your expertise!

Hey guys! I'm new to this forum and need some of your expertise.

I'm a college student in New York and need a wardrobe update (maybe a whole new wardrobe). I'm a big jeans guy. I'm thinking of wearing some neutral/dark colored basic t-shirts with jeans such as this one..

http://www.abercrombie.com/webapp/wc...-1_12215_12202

Also, I'd appreciate it if you could recommend any other t-shirts that have a similar fit/cut.

With jeans I can also wear some polos and I do have a some Express shirts already in my wardrobe that I was thinking of using (sleeves rolled up with open top?).

Again any suggestions on what brand of polo has a similar cut to Abercrombie? I'm a pretty small build body. About 5'9'' at 140lbs. I'm not an athletic build yet but I'm starting to hit the gym to transform all fat into muscle.

The jeans I was thinking of using are...

1. Have these jeans

2. These too

3. Just ordered these ones today

4. Not a bad price?

I have a slim waist and essentially no ass so its pretty tough to find jeans that fit me well. I have to opt for the slim bootcut (28x30) or slim straight (29x30).

In the fall/winter when it starts getting chilly in New York I was thinking of just layering up. With the t-shirts or polos I could put a sweatshirt or jacket over it. I can layer the shirts with sweaters and a jacket. What do you think about that?

I also need some advice on what kind of shoes to wear. I just bought these to wear out at night..

But what should I wear on a daily basis with jeans and a tee or shirt?

Basically, I'm looking for a simple, casual look that I can easily use throughout the seasons in NYC (I'm originally from California and never really had this problem). Appreciate any help you guys can give me and thanks in advance!

First of all don't wear branded plain t-shirts, especially Abercrombie ones. and LOL @ wearing those loafers out at night in New York.

your jeans need more back pocket designs and larger flaps for the pockets.

perhaps more distressing as well as it seems your current collection is very tame in that regard.

You are better off buying your entire wardrobe from American Apparel and looking like a hipster.

@Saul Silver: The Abercrombie tshirts fit pretty well on me. Do you have any suggestions of other tshirts that have a similar fit? I don't care about brands much .. just fit and quality.

@phoenixrecon: Thanks! Will look into finding more distressed jeans with different pocket designs.

@Neires: Is this look really considered hipster?

oh gawd, this is just painful. JP002, people are being sarcastic... your style preferences are not generally the preffered aesthetic of this community. Either start reading, learn, and realize you've got a long way to go but will be a lot less happy, rich, and marginally better looking by the end of the ordeal, or slowly back away and find another forum that's more in line with what you think looks "good" right now.

You spent US$50 for lucky denim (poor quality) and you want to spend another US$50 for abercrombie denim (poor quality). This brings you to US$100 and you have two, pardon my french, shitty pairs of denim. You state you are focused on fit and quality but from your actions you are focusing on quantity. In my opinion, you should cancel the lucky denim order and purchase one quality pair of raw denim. Research and knowledge is key, as stated by Master-Classter. I do not own a pair of EP's from Epaulet but I have heard great reviews about the product. Plus they are made in the USA using superior fabric, in my opinion, at US$145 with shipping it is a no brainer. http://www.epauletshop.com/servlet/t...nim/Categories http://www.epsdenim.com/index.html

^^Free shipping for orders over $50. You could also get a pair of APCs from NeedSupply for $147.20 shipped with the StyleForum code which they usually have up on the NeedSupply thread.
