Need a good pair of jeans for Sportcoat

I'm new at this so wanted some general idea on a good brand of jeans for a Navy Sportcoat. I was going for the casual look to mix it up from the usual slacks/dress shirt. I'm guessing a very dark blue would look best.

I'm about a 34/32 athletic build. So I tend to get pants that are a bit tight in the thighs. What type of cut is best for this application of jeans, a straight/slim fit or a looser look?

Thanks everyone!

Sartorialist always has a bunch of fit pics of jeans with blazers. waywtd also probably has a few. That'll help you out a lot more than a brand recommendation.

How are you going to wear navy jeans with a navy sportcoat?

Yeah Navy sportcoat & dark jeans sounds a bit fuddy duddy, but I think it can still be pulled off. We've been carrying 3Sixteen SL-100x in the shop and they're my absolute "go-to" pair...so I'd recommend those (just as I've recommended them to anyone else I could).

Give me 1 good reason cheap old navy would not work with a clean wash. You wouldn't even notice. Why waste 200$ no one is going to care. Stop being insecure thinking you need some over priced niche bs to be cool.

Post a fit pic of yourself wearing cheap jeans from old navy or elsewhere.

What color jeans should I wear then?

Mostly everyone on hear seems to think a Navy sportcoat is the best first one to buy as well. I'd like one I can wear with jeans and pants. Needs to be versatile so if you have another color suggestion I'm open.

Why is that? I see tons of people wearing them and it seems like a nice look for school. I'm not about to walk into class with a suit on or something.

Regardless how about just naming me a good pair of jeans under $70? I'm a 34/32 athletic built guy, I don't like them to bag up and rather them be a bit slimmer of a fit.

Then I'll choose to use them how I see fit

The cut isn't particularly slimming, and the fabric falls apart rapidly.
