Joy Division: (i haven't seen this one yet). http://www.hulu.com/watch/157858/joy-division

Radiohead - Meeting People Is easy:

The Flaming Lips: The Fearless Freaks

http://www.hulu.com/watch/91177/the-...earless-freaks

Pixies: loudQUIETloud

http://www.hulu.com/watch/122396/lou...out-the-pixies

the radiohead one is from 1997-1999 and actually as some songs from Hail to the Theif and in rainbows... pretty cool and has aged very very well.

the pixies one really shows how a band breaks up (all the members really have granite hard heads and talented and best of all are all myopic -even when they clearly just want to make money for their families).

and the flaming lips is very comprehensive... to the point that they get humanized and you forget they are a rock band...

all have great live music (the radiohead stuff is impressive).

its a great way to waste hours.

the original version was awesome even when live on the documentary. it was more powerful and clean, but it was weird/confusing hearing the older version later.

but their live Exit Music was the performance of the whole movie...

the pixies doc was kinda sad too, the music was about 10 years before my time, but I got into them because of my older brother's cd collection. to actually finally put faces behind music that i've been listening to regularly (i actually never did any internet research on them before) and see them now in their older/ war drug-hardened/ weary/ desperate for money and attention stage was sad but added more dimensions to the music now.

the flaming lips doc was really upbeat and positive kinda the opposite of the radiohead one.. lol

Dig! is a great rock documentary. Seven years in the making and culled from 2000 hours of footage, DIG! plunges into the underbelly of rock n roll, unearthing an incredible true story of success and self-destruction. http://www.hulu.com/watch/62673/dig
