Is this unprofessional? (Dating question)

As someone working in the creative/media industry, I attend quite a few PR parties. At one hosted a couple of days back by a PR agency I work with, I met a British lady currently interning with the firm.

Now, as she's only here for one month, she doesn't have a local mobile phone number. She did provide me with her Facebook and office email details and seemed willing enough to have dinner next week.

However, a reply I dropped to her office account has not been replied. It's been about 2 days now.

So my query is this- Would it be unprofessional if I went out with her while she's here and in the event that she doesn't reply, call her office mainline and ask to talk to her?

Appreciate your answers chaps.

a) Fine to go out with her
b) Not fine to call her at work on the phone line

If she hasn't replied after 2 days, she probably isn't interested.

Plus 1! In fact because shes only there for a month it would be rude not to go out with her. It's nit nice to be alone in a new county, and English people love Americans.

I'm not American.

Ah well that sucks. Fingers crossed she gets back, but c'est la vie I suppose.

She may not be interest or may be busy. Plus a lot of people let their facebook events, messages and friend requests pile up with junk so she may just not have seen it yet. Yeah, I second not calling her office - I don't think it's unprofessional, I just think it's a bit much. But if you think she seemed really interested when you met, wait a few more days, if no answer, then go ahead and call the office and see what happens. However, demote her from dinner to just [plenty of] drinks.

Could be she already managed to drug someone else and steal his kidney. Just be thankful.

Well, not with the English blokes it isn't - they've all worn their kidneys out.

Perhaps she's got a "bloke" back home in a "council flat" pushing a "pram".

I'd like to think (and I think I'm right) that she's a bit more posh then that!

As someone whos also English, I can assure you there are a hell of a lot of us that really, really don't love Americans. They started the fat trend which has spread over here, and now loads of girls raise the intonation of what they're saying at the end of EVERY sentence too, regardless of whether it's a question or not. grrrrrrrrr

English people are funny. Theyre all cute and ugly all at once. And they lose at sports. Kind regards, Australia.
