I contacted Herring Shoes to point out that the shoes I bought had manufacturing faults. They agreed to exchange the shoes, provided that I pay the shipping. The shoes I then received had red stickers on them. Could it be that they are seconds? I fear so... I have bought shoes from Herring several times, but will no more.

Shoes that are seconds are usually very clearly marked - as in stamped into the leather. I don't think a red sticker can mean very much.
