The best costume I ever saw was a spanish guy who wore a potato sack, fake mustache, and carried a bag of coffee beans and a donkey (don't ask me where he got the donkey from). All night long you'd hear "come, taste my delicious colombian coffee." I think the donkey shit on the floor at some point. Don't know if that was also part of the costume or not.
