NYC Watch Repair

I bought a watch from Gemnation and it is now out of warranty. I sent it back recently because the movement wasn't working and they repaired it, however the day/date wasn't working properly. I delayed sending it back to them.

Walking home the other day, the buckle slipped and the watch fell off my wrist. It hit the pavement. The crystal on the back of the watch cracked.

The movement has once again stopped working.

I could call Gemnation and demand that they fix it for free since they didn't do a good enough job the first time, but they'd probably see the crack and say that it broke due to trauma. This is true for the movement, not the day-date.

I would like to look into independent watch repair in NYC.

The watch is a Hamilton Khaki Automatic Chronograph.

Yup, ~$45 for labor +parts. Go in the door far left, up to the second floor, right then left. He's at the back.

You can always use Hamilton's service center at Swatch. It will cost more than an independent, but you'll be sure to get factory parts and the watch is more likely to return to you in complete working order.

Do I have to go to the one in Seacaucus? Or do I go into any Swatch retail store? A bit of Googling and I'm unsure. Thanks Mafoo.

He means the Hamilton service center, not a Swatch retail location.
The Swatch retail location will unlikely to be helpful.

You can always just call up the service center and then mail your watch to them.
Or take it to a Hamilton dealer and have them send it in for you although they're likely to charge your more than if you send it in yourself.
