I heard the advice was to go down 2 sizes from your natural waist for the super low rise somets.

My waist measures 30, so I should go with a 28.

Somét is currently doing only one jeans production per year, down from two per year, so restocks will be less frequent than in the past.

That explains the price jump.

any of you have the 030 or 031 cut? if so, did you go down 2 or 3 sizes?

Just got a couple pairs of Somet (003 & 008). First pairs of decent denim ...hopefully they live up to their rep.

I'm wearing a 29 and the fit is pretty good. That's sized down 2 from what I usually wear. 33-34" waste.

Hey, I am interested in getting the Somet 008 in a size 26, I want to know how slim the fit is for you because from the sizing chart a 26 tag is actually a 28/29? My waist size is a 27. Thanks

is your waist really 27? you are super skinny ... the size 26 somet will measure ~ 29" raw (BiG method) and you can get about 1 inch in shrinkage with a hot wash so they still might be a tad big on you but will still look okay, imo. i think somet's look great worn a tad larger on people with small frames. you may also want to check out the skull linda, samurai geisha or even some of the smaller pbjs. those might fit you a tad better if you need a raw denim a little closer to the 27" waist range.

My 008's are 27, but I'd be a fitted 26 today, at 5'7", 120 lbs, and about a 27.5" waist (am a size 26 APC PS, for reference). The 27's still fit well, just not super skinny. The top block is great, probably due to the darts, but they have more of a straight leg opening than a skinny / carrot cut. Keep in mind that it's also pretty low-rise, so know what you're getting into if you're not short. I can't speak highly enough about the fit and finish, though.

I'm really pleased with a pair of barely-used 003s that I received recently. They were previously owned by 2 other guys and so a hand-wash with a fews drops of concentrated liquid laundry detergent was the first order of the day. I did have to rinse them at least 5 times to get rid of the brown residue (starch, I hope The only downside to the wash was that the inseam shrank by about .5" with hang-drying ... I probably would have lost 1" with a tumble-dry.

These are by far the best-fitting jeans that I've ever owned. I think that it's all got to do with the low-rise cut of the Somet's which allows me to fit around my most prominent dimension ... my rump! Regular-rise jeans forced me to wear a belt to gather the excess fabric around my waist.

In terms of fit, I was also considering the Jean Shop Classics, but I was turned off by the orange stitching (too western-looking) and the SA's recommendation to size down 3 to accommodate expected stretch (I sized down 1 for the 003).

I'm now expecting a barely-used pair of the 005 (same cut as the 003, but in black) to arrive in the mail later this week
