I'm really pleased with a pair of barely-used 003s that I received recently. They were previously owned by 2 other guys and so a hand-wash with a fews drops of concentrated liquid laundry detergent was the first order of the day. I did have to rinse them at least 5 times to get rid of the brown residue (starch, I hope
The only downside to the wash was that the inseam shrank by about .5" with hang-drying ... I probably would have lost 1" with a tumble-dry.
These are by far the best-fitting jeans that I've ever owned. I think that it's all got to do with the low-rise cut of the Somet's which allows me to fit around my most prominent dimension ... my rump! Regular-rise jeans forced me to wear a belt to gather the excess fabric around my waist.
In terms of fit, I was also considering the Jean Shop Classics, but I was turned off by the orange stitching (too western-looking) and the SA's recommendation to size down 3 to accommodate expected stretch (I sized down 1 for the 003).
I'm now expecting a barely-used pair of the 005 (same cut as the 003, but in black) to arrive in the mail later this week
