The little guys? How much smaller is BiG than context?

do the 003 fit very similar to the NS? from the sizing charts it would seem so. i can't decide to go with 008 or 003....

003's fit more like a Petit Standard (PS has the same fit as the NS but with a lower rise). 008's are more tapered down the leg (and they have the thigh dart) than the straight fit 003's.

Umm... have you seen their shop? It's about 400 sq ft. BiG is small

Been wearing my Somet 003 sz 28 pretty regularly since October and I want to offer some thoughts about the fit on these.. these really are meant to sit on the bottom of your hips. I was a little skeptical about the intention of the cut, but it's pretty rigid. You really can't manipulate the fit by jumping around sizing much. I now don't tuck shirts into these anymore, the waistband is just way too low even though I'm 5'6", it isn't very flattering proportion wise. They're fit very "anatomically"- what I mean by that is the measurements are pretty much a glove fit for the body part they sit on- the waistband measures agreeably with hips, the thigh, etc.. obviously this is because they're mine and they've stretched to accommodate my body but the result is they're a little constricting, like when sagging slim/skinny jeans on your hips. On those, you can pull the waist up when you want to cross your legs but there's nothing to pull up on these, they'll already be sitting as high as they go. Trying to pull them up will just squeeze your thigh awkwardly and you'll have to tug the leg back down when you stand. I'm guessing this is the case for most who experienced stretch- if they were roomy to begin with that's a different story.

Personally I like a higher waist and a slightly roomier thigh during the summertime/whenever I'm wearing just a shirt.

Unrelated, they age beautifully. Pics soon

c00kz-
i just picked up the 003 in 28 as well, and I agree that they do sit very very very very low on the hip. did you presoak/wash yours?

Yeah, I let them sit in the washer (off of course) for an hour and a half. I recommend it, the shrinkage was really not that noticeable. I partially dried them later and that's when they shrunk the most, still nothing permanent (minus inseam).

Does anyone have any experience with the 020s/can post pictures? I can't decide if I like the contrast "lamé" stitching, or if it just looks cheap. Thoughts?

If anyone's interested, I have a pair of brand new with tags Somet 012 low rise straight fit white jeans in size 28 (exactly the same as the 003 low rise straight fit indigo's) that I need to sell (I'm buying the exact same pair in size 27, but it's been too long to exchange them at BiG). Farking awesome pair of jeans. I'm willing to give a substantial discount off the $275 asking price. Make me an offer.

Link to them on BiG's website found here.

Can't believe this passed quality control.

Hi so I have read almost this entire thread, and I have gotten a ton of information on sizing, but I still just don't want to make the wrong educated guess when I can't return at BiG.

My question is pretty specific.

I wear a size 30 in Nudies (both regular ralf and thin finn). They are quite tight when I first get them, but quite loose after a year (or more). For my TFs, I can now stick 2-3 fingers in between my skin and the jeans.

Here's the sizing chart for Nudie TF's from Context:

Now, my TFs and RRs (after much wear/washing) have a 32" inseam, but from the chart and the fact that they were much tighter when I first got them, it looks like my true waist size is 31" (these jeans fit me very well).

Here's the size chart from BiG for Somet 008s:

So I need a size 28 according to this. Unfortunately, that's the only size sold out at BiG (and they don't have them at Context either).

So simple question... Do I get the 27s or the 29s?

Thanks for the help :-)

I sized down on the Somet 003s and had to return them. For me, they sat well below my waist, on my hips really. I'm a true 28 inch waist and bought size 28 nudie slim jims, size 26 APC PS, etc, but because of the crazy low rise I should've gone TTS instead of sizing down one. For you I would say the 28s. This is just my opinion though!
I wouldn't get the 28s if I were you. I measure relatively the same with you on the waist, but you have to keep in mind the somets are extremely low rise.

For reference, I can fit a 30 in the eternal 811 o/w but the 29 in somet 003s were a lot tighter (though I could button them up)

Don't be shocked at the low rise. It's fucking low rise. If your shirts are short then you can forget about remaining modest while doing anything but standing straight.

no, you need the 29s at least i'd say. remember there really low rise.
