CYC Singapore tailors - Page 2

I had a Acorn shirt made at KEVIN SEAH, beautiful single needle stitching and it's totally non fused... he explained that his way of doing is using layers of the same cloths to construct his collars and cuffs which gives it a very natural sot and comfortable feeling. Even his buttons are mother of pearl and hand shanked. He even helped me monogram my wife's name on it. Very personalised... which made my wife very happy when she saw it. His range of cottons to be can be considered among the best. DJA, ACORN and GRANDI. Saw a nice unconstructed raw linen jacket that that is totally uncanvassed and unlined taped in shocking pink... I must say it's one of the nicest linen jacket I've ever seen at any tailors in Singapore.

stylomilo, I was told at CYC that the shirts are still done locally but pants/suits are KL.

Sounds interesting MSP.

My shirts came unfused, but a bit stiffer than I would have opted for - they've made a note and will go with their softest next time.

I like the fit of the two linen shirts I ordered, they shrank a good bit though and the collar needs to be let out a bit on both patterns (one short sleeve, one long) next time - it's acceptable but I prefer a looser fit; on the long sleeve shirt I need another 1" of sleeve to use as anything but a casual shirt. Otherwise I'm happy with how trim/fitted the shirts are, nice buttons, high armholes/slim sleeves. I went shopping yesterday at Saks Off and NM LCall and saw a similar, but unfitted, linen NM-brand short, baggy, sleeve with a retail of $195 and marked down to about $75. My shirt was about $120 including courier delivery so I'm pretty satisfied with cost : performance. Already got a compliment from a client wearing one of them

My wife also got 3 shirts of varying styles and said she is happy with the fit - she's difficult OTR due to her petite size/large bust.

My plan is to get 2-3 more linen short sleeves, another 1-2 linen long sleeves, and a tuxedo shirt made next. I may also see if they can do a bowtie for me since I'd like to get a nice MTM one before my next scheduled wedding in Jan or Feb.

There are some good options mentioned in the Singapore Tailor Guide (including CYC). Grand City is a good option at the other end of the price spectrum!
