Can anyone explain this David Sills (13 yo QB prospect) hype?

I don't get it. He's 13 in a sport where how much stronger and faster you get between 13 and 18 is a strong indicator of success. He looks like a twig now.

Never heard the kid mentioned before. Didn't see anything in that video that looked all that impressive. So no, I can't explain it.

Well apparently, Lane Kiffin offered him a scholarship at USC in 5 years. This came up because of the Kiffin/Titans spat, but I had heard of him before.

This kid probably has a better shot at being at USC in 5 years than Kiffin does.

this is pretty old. the kid is really good for his age. quick release, nice arm, makes some nice throws etc etc etc. but it's true - having been coached well and demonstrating talent at 13 means nothing. the boys and men aren't really separated til much later. nobody has any idea how this kid will grow in the next 5-8 years, which are everything. what's most disturbing to me is how professionally the tape has been made edited etc. "David Sills the Dreammaker" it says in the corner. This kid's Dad seriously needs to get a life. It's as likely the kid will be a burned out, coke-snorting mess as anything else. This is just way too intense for a kid.

The 'underage' recruiting is making it's way from basketball to football.

If he doesn't pan out, no loss. If he does, USC has the inside track. That's all.

That's the best tape of a QB prospect I've seen since Uncle Rico's NFL Combine highlight film.
